A mechanical device called a plug valve is used to regulate & control the flow of fluids in a pipeline. It comprises a cylindrical or tapered plug that rotates within the valve body to permit or prevent fluid passage. The stem on which the plug is mounted is rotated by a handwheel or other actuator. The design of this product permits a tight seal when it is closed, making it perfect for applications requiring little leakage. Its straightforward design also makes maintenance and repair simple. Plug valves are frequently used in the chemical & petrochemical industries, as well as in oil and gas processing facilities.
